The Design Terrae Foundation is born in the upper Macerata area and aims to promote, develop and coordinate projects and initiatives in the world of design.
Realizing the desire of Franco Moschini, entrepreneur and patron of Le Marche region, always animated by love for his land, the foundation dedicates its commitment to those who love the “beautiful, good and well made” things and to those who contribute to evolving them.
Design Terrae is a catalyst hub and connector of talents, projects and people, whose purpose is to design and organize training courses, activities and events that aim to involve the younger generations, through experiences of discovery and experimentation.

The starting point of the foundation is the upper Macerata area, a territory of authentic experiences that open to the enjoyment of contemporary culture and “creative landscape”, understood as a natural, historical and human asset.
Design Terrae aims to highlight these discreet and new places, telling them, preserving and sharing the wonderful things, knowledge and values of Culture in all its expressions.
The Foundation intends to intervene both on the internal dimension of the territory, supporting a new and solid awareness of its own identity, and on its external perception, through the creation of bridging opportunities between similar and different microcosms.
The goal is to be the starting point to generate and support projects and innovation; the meeting point of entrepreneurial energies, social resources and cultural deposits, to make them evolve in an ethical and sustainable way.

The Foundation’s activity is nourished by relationships and synergies and weaves together a network, which is enriched over the years and thanks to which many projects are born and materialized.
Our starting point it’s the town of Tolentino e one of our first project is Politeama.
Cineteatro in the 1920s, in 2017 it was reborn as a multifunctional cultural centre, to host artistic and cultural events, to catalyze ideas, resources and projects that contribute to the social development of the territory.
Another project to which we are devoting our energies is Interno Marche, a design hotel whose doors will open in 2024, in Tolentino.
It won’t be just a simple hotel, but a two-dimensional experience: hospitality and cultural journey.
A journey through time that starts from the factory and residence of the entrepreneur Nazareno Gabrielli, creator of the homonymous brand, one of the most prestigious in the world of Italian fashion.
Gebrüder Thonet Vienna is a world-leading brand in luxury craftsmanship, protagonist of design history. Gebrüder Thonet Vienna has been the official partner of the Bootcamp, the higher education summer campus for design conceived by Design Terrae.
ZAGREUS is a cultural association made up of young people who deals with the dissemination of art and the organization of events and exhibitions. Together we collaborated on the creation of Edera, a new format dedicated to young artists in the area.
Borgofuturo is the festival of environmental, economic and social sustainability. With Borgofuturo and the local laboratory Inabita Lab, we collaborated on the project Qui Val di Fiastra.
Marchingegno carries out research and design activities in the field of urban regeneration, culture and tourism. With Marchingegno we collaborated on some projects related to PNRR in the upper Macerata area.
Workshok! Workshok! is a project born in 2018 within the Faculty of Architecture and Design of Ascoli Piceno. Workshok! designs workshops with a variety of professionals and industry studios. Together with Workshok! we work together to carry out training activities.
TEDx Macerata was the first TED of Le Marche Region in 2018 and now has 4 editions. Design Terrae is the official sponsor of TEDx Macerata.
The Istituto Adriano Olivetti is a management training school, founded in 1967 by the economist Giorgio Fuà.
